San Francisco’s own Garrick Ohlsson rocked Davies Symphony Hall last week with a stunning performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The program also included Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer Steven Stucky’s Jeu de timbres, along with complete
performances of Bartók’s The
Miraculous Mandarin, featuring the SF Symphony Chorus.
The highlight for
many us, though, was Ohlsson’s encore work with Debussy’s “Clair de Lune.”
