Janowski Brings German Chops to SF Symphony

The brilliant German conductor, Marek Janowski, will lead the San Francisco Symphony  in the performance of Three Preludes from Hans Pfitzner’s best-known opera Palestrina, January 21-24 at Davies Symphony Hall. 

This is the SFS’s first performance of music by Pfitzner, a composer not widely performed outside of Germany. Janowski, considered an expert on Beethoven and German music, also conducts Beethoven’s Symphonies No. 4 and No. 8 in this engagement.
