San Francisco Opera audiences greeted the long anticipated
return of Don Pasquale with well deserved praise this season, bestowing special
kudos for Laurent Pelly’s brilliant staging.
Donizetti’s farce was placed in Rome circa
1955, which gave us a chance to admire the fashion and costumes of that
glamorous bygone era while enjoying a timeless entertainment.
